Mixed Case
From £110.00
Per Case

A 6 bottle selection featuring Sauvignon Wines from the Loire.

This case includes:

1 x Domaine Bardon
Les Precieuses

Rich and complex, it will seduce you by its deep notes, sips of citrus and honey worthy of praise. The original source of Sauvignon Blanc!

1 x Domaine Masson Blondelet
Pouilly Fume Villa Paulus

Elegant fruit. Flinty with long finish and persistent after-taste, best with seafood or goat cheese.

A classy wine, always very consistent over the years.

1 x Moulin des Vrilleres
Sancerre Reserve du Demon

An enticing and cheeky wine, offering a range of citrus fruits, honey and sage. The mouth is alive and invigorating, light and has fine length. The body is supported by rounded tannins.

1 x Karine Lauverjat
Menetou Salon

Pleasant nose of citrus, round, silky and full-bodied.

1 x Moulin des Vrilleres
Sancerre

Always a fashionable winner if you like Sauvignon. This particular wine has the merit to always please irrespective of the vintage. That has been the case for the last 25 years. It has a dry and most appealing roundness, and such a lovely lingering after-taste. At its best with fish, shellfish and goat cheese. Best drunk within 5 years, but will keep longer and will change in character.

1 x Gerard Bigonneau
Quincy

Limpid colour with sparkling reflections. On the nose, aromas of citrus fruit, grapefruit, and of fresh lemon. Striking on the palate with a beautiful body. A little roundness, but which remains with a nice balance and liveliness at the end.

Domaine Bardon

Monsieur Bardon produces red and white wines from the lesser known appellation Valençay, also known for its Chateau, with the unusual combination of Chardonnay and Sauvignon and a Touraine, Les Demoiselles, made with 100% Sauvignon. His newest creation is the 'Fie Gris' called Les Precieuses.

Fie Gris is a grape said to be the ancestor of Sauvignon, and produces a fascinating new tasting experience with a distinctly different taste from the classic Sauvignon.

Moulin des Vrilleres

In Sury-en-Vaux, a little village near Sancerre, the 'big chief' (according to his wife Karine), Christian Lauverjat produces quality Sancerre wines year after year. The Sancerre appellation produces mostly whites, but reds and rose wines made with Pinot Noir are also produced by this domaine.

Domaine Masson Blondelet

Some thirty years ago, whilst searching for a Pouilly Fumé to add to my list, I visited several vineyards over the period of about a week. At one stage Didier Daguenau (the acknowledged master of the Appellation) confessed that he could not supply me as he already had an exclusive contract to supply his wines to another supplier in England. But he asked me who else I was going to see. When I mentioned Masson Blondelet, he said: “They’re always in the leading group of producers year after year. You’ll be alright with them”. He also gave me one of his bottles, and said “And you’ll enjoy that!” I never saw him again, but his words proved to be true.

The family Masson Blondelet invariably produces top Pouilly Fumé wines and the bottle he gave me was consumed a few years later and thoroughly enjoyed. Merci, Didier!
Gerard Bigonneau

The Bigonneau estate, located in Brinay (18) near Vierzon in the Cher, is a family farm and winery. Several generations have followed one another to vinify the two AOC Quincy and Reuilly.

It was at the turn of the 1980s that Gerard Bigonneau seized the opportunity to establish a vineyard on the slopes of the commune of Reuilly. And today it is his daughter, Virginie, who manages the operation of the vineyard (which extends over 20 hectares) and ensures that the quality and know-how that make the success of their harvests are preserved.
